'Character Notes' are a book of information on playing each Commedia mask. Information such as the status of the mask/character, the physical appearance and traditional costume, how the character moves and stands, speech pitch and speed as well as how talkative or taciturn the character is, the general character of the mask; the type of person it represents - a long description of the attributes or the nature of the character being portrayed - boastful or humble, self-serving or generous, the strengths and weaknesses of each character. Also the relationships to other characters within the Commedia troupe as well as the audience, and the plot function of each character.
